So, how do you describe a tea that comes recommended as the best tea ever!! I guess we could try. Or Not – Better just to tell you that it’s only possible to produce it in small batches owing to the challenges in harvesting only the youngest buds and leaves during the Late wintery- early Spring, First Flush season of Darjeeling and processing this tea within a small time window with a lot of labor, energy and skill as no machinery is involved and teas are only handled by the most expert hands to preserve the fine white hair present on the leaves.. (A lot of ‘Onlys’ in that paragraph😊)
The tea is extremely aromatic with Floral – Citrus Vanilla – Honey and Wildflowers notes !! The creaminess is quite apparent as only the youngest are used to make this the tea which is completely sun withered. Abundant hair on the leaves and the plucking is proof of the careful handling and processing of this delicious tea.
A lot of time and expertise has gone into producing this beautiful white tea as instead of rolling and oxidizing, the tea is sun-dried – you’ll know it when you brew it.
It’s a thoughtful tea, as in – Present it to someone and be remembered for life – grade tea!! A perfect yield of nature’s bounty and human effort. No regrets with this.
Personally, we went 3 steeps in with the Western brewing style, increasing the infusion time by a minute every time and the tea still had a decent amount of flavor and aroma!!
BREWING INSTRUCTION
2.5 Gm of tea with 200ml water at 80 degrees Celsius for 3min.
