Made in the Gyokuro style, this Darjeeling First Flush (Green) Leaf is plucked from the Yabukita Cultivars that yield the Sencha green.
Grown in the shade, like the Gyokuro, it has high Theanine and Chlorophyll content. There’s no mistaking the calming effect of high Theanine content in this one. The plucking is extremely fine mostly consisting of leaves and young buds and quite unique in flavor and an even unique green color.
The leaves are Dark green (almost black) in color, prominent in ‘Umami’ notes with Sweet finish and no Astringency. This is, in fact, one of the finer green teas to come out of Darjeeling.
Brewing instruction
2.5 gms of tea with 200ml of water at 70 degrees Celsius. Can be brewed twice.
