The ‘Everyday’ will never match up to the allure of the exotic, but it is the ‘familiar’ that gives structure to our lives. It is familiarity that roots us. The ‘style’ or appeal of the familiar, one that differentiates it from the exotic, is that familiarity is also inclusive of the absence of something as much as the presence of something. “What you don’t get is also a part of what you do get.” Somehow, our senses are able to grasp that on a very subconscious level and define everyday & familiarity for us, as we go.
With this tea right here, what is absent, is as much a part as what is present – Reminds me of Bukowski reading ‘Style’. An unmistakable, unapologetic, almost rude Muscatel when hot, that turns equally and unmistakably rosy halfway. A tea so consistent in its delivery, so inseparable in aroma and flavor, I’d say it has Style (So would Bukowski!!) – Stimulating in the morning, purposeful in the afternoons and contented in the evenings – it is the answer to all seasons of the weather and the mind. As for the ‘absence’ of the things that are a part of this tea – we leave it to your ‘familiarity’ to personalize.
Made from the Old Chinese Bushes (unlike the Yabukita which is made from Japanese Bushes) this Darjeeling Second flush oozes with inherent style. The dry leaves have shades of Copper, Black, Gold & Silver tips which when brewed turns into a dark red liquor with a rose like sweet finish. Rest all is ‘Absence’.
Brew away to the solace of familiarity with 2.5 Gms. of leaves for 3 minutes!
